Real American Brownies

1/2 c Butter or margarine
2 1 oz squares unsweetened chocolate; melted & cooled
1 c Granulated sugar
2 Eggs
1 ts Vanilla
3/4 c All-purpose flour; sifted
1/2 c Chopped walnuts; optional

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and chocolate. Remove from the heat; stir in sugar. Blend-in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla. Stir in flour and nuts; mix well. Spread in greased 8inch x 8inch x 2inch deep baking pan. Bake at 350F for 30 minutes (be careful not to over-bake) Cool 20 minutes before cutting into squares for serving.
